This is not leakproof at all. If you put liquid in and turn it sideways, the liquid drips out. This is what I expected when I bought it. I don't think it is possible to make a container purely of silicone that seals tightly, because silicone is not rigid enough. The container I really want would have only silicone touching my food but would have a more rigid closure reinforced with some other material. Given that they only used silicone, I think it's as good as it can be.I bought this because we try to avoid plastic. My son takes it to daycare 3 days a week and we’ve been very happy with it. It’s kind of a pain in the butt to clean each compartment but it does clean easily. I would order again.I got this for my 4 year old to take hr lunch in and it's perfect to fit a sandwich, carrot sticks, and some sugar snap peas or some raspberries, etc. It fits enough for her entire lunch and I'm sure I could fit enough fory entire lunch as well if I stacked it right inside.Great materialThis is a fantastic product. I saw it for $9.10, and thought it was definitely worth the price to check out the item. I've had them for a month, and I'm satisfied with the sturdiness, and ease of cleaning. Spaghetti sauce will stain them, but I'm happy with them overall. The price has shot up to $15, and I'm not sure they're worth that, but if the price drops again I'll pick up six or ten more.I use it to store my sandwich, heat it up and then I can eat right out of the container without making any trash. A good rinse and its easily cleaned. The top actually seals on as it has a groove that grips which also means it'd be good for refrigerator storage. Although I tend to stick to glassware for that. The top when its locked on is pretty well on there. I just peal it off with moderate pull. Silicone especially this thick will not give or tear by doing that. The box is not flimsy its quite sturdy I also jam it in a small lunch bag. The top stays on and it doesn't get squished or deformed.I bought four of these boxes almost two years ago and they have held up from daily use wonderfully. My son had just turned 3 at the time and needed a container that he could open on his own at daycare. These were easy for him to open. I still love using them and I cannot tell the difference from the day they were purchased. We wash these regularly in the dishwasher.I’m super excited for find a lunch box/food container made with ALL SILICONE!! We’re a family of five and we bring everything we eat through the day from home. We’ve gone through so many different styles of food bags/containers. The last ones we had to through away, due to the heavy dish soup taste, we’re those collapsible silicone containers with plastic lids. I tried soaking them with baking soda, vinegar, citrus peels... and then I found online that someone suggested leaving them in the oven for about 10 minutes or unless the odor dissipate. It was an effective trick which removed the soap smell and taste from my other silicone ware but I couldn’t do the same with the collapsibles because the rim was made of plastic. So now if the soap problem occurs again, I can totally “toast” them in the oven!!!
