These are the perfect size for holding a stick of butter or margarine in a sealed container, which is what I was hoping for when I purchased. I especially like the vent in the top, as it makes them also useful for heating up said butter or margarine when melted is needed. Or any other small amount of something, come to that. The construction is sturdy, and the lids fit tight enough to sometimes be a bit hard to get on; but that's what I want in a storage container. Definitely recommended.
